the early morning hours. She was 94 years old. Ruth was the last of eight Glass children and lived in Hamilton for most of her life. She was revered by her family and friends for her wisdom, independence, generosity, optimism and sense of humour. She was beloved by everyone who knew her. She is survived by her children, Dr. Douglas Slavin and her beloved daughter - in - law Jill of Atlanta, Georgia and Joy Slavin Isenberg of Toronto. She had two grandchildren, Devorah Slavin and Kady Slavin and two great-grandchildren, Summer Slavin and Max Slavin. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, November 12, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Temple Anshe Sholom, 215 Cline Avenue North. There will be no formal funeral. She requested that donations be made in her memory to Shalom Village, 60 Macklin Street North, Hamilton Ontario L8S 3S1.
