Born on January 15 in the Philippines, Segundina later made Hamilton, Ontario, her home. She will be remembered for her dedication to education, her love of family, and her active spirit. Segundina attended Agusan National High School, where she distinguished herself as an accomplished athlete in track and field and swimming. She later attended Far Eastern University, College of Education, pursuing her passion for teaching.
She devoted her professional life to education and was a former intermediate teacher at Butuan Central Elementary School, where she touched the lives of many students through her dedication and care. Segundina will be lovingly remembered by her children, Amelito, Cesar, Cecilia, and Maria Fe, and by her extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Silvano Fortun Sr. (2017) and her son Silvano Jr.
Her memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held at Cresmount Funeral Home – Fennell Chapel, 322 Fennell Avenue E. on September 17, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and again from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 620 Rymal Road E. on September 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m with Cremation to follow.
