OBITUARY

Siggy Adams

3 July, 1950 – 15 March, 2026
IN THE CARE OF

Cresmount Funeral Home - Fennell Chapel

Born Erdmute Sigrid Fritz in Göttingen, Germany

Passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the age of 75, surrounded by her loving family.

Devoted and wonderful mother to Mark (Janice), Ben (Annette), and Charity. Proud and deeply loved grandmother to Donyelle, Lyra, and Avelyn. Loving sister of Johanna (Murray) and Paul "Norby" (Donna). In her final days, Sulu, Charity's beloved pup, stayed faithfully by her side, keeping her feet warm and bringing her comfort and peace when it mattered most.

Siggy dedicated 40 years of her life to nursing, a profession that perfectly reflected her deep sense of service and compassion. She retired from Henderson Hospital in 2012 after a long and meaningful career, touching countless lives along the way. The kindness she brought to her work was the same kindness she carried into every part of her life.

Siggy's greatest passion was cooking. She had a remarkable talent in the kitchen and could effortlessly prepare a delicious meal for a crowd, often serving gatherings of 25 or more with ease. Her recipes, well-loved and carefully perfected over the years, live on through her family.

Siggy faced life's challenges with quiet resilience and an unwavering sense of gratitude. She never missed an opportunity to say "thank you": to the staff who cared for her, to her family who loved her, and to every person whose help she graciously received. In her final days, surrounded by those she loved, her words were simple and true: "Thank you. Goodbye. I love you."

In keeping with Siggy's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oak Ridges Hospice of Durham (oakridgeshospice.com), a community-funded hospice residence that provided Siggy and her family with extraordinary compassion and comfort in her final days. As a nurse who dedicated her life to caring for others, Siggy would be deeply grateful to know that others might receive the same kindness she was shown there.

"Thank you. Goodbye. I love you."
