Slavica was the beloved wife and best friend of Steve Belan for 52 wonderful years. Their marriage was built on love, devotion, and unwavering support, creating a lifetime of cherished memories together.
Born in Gorice, Slavonija, Croatia, Slavica was the cherished daughter of the late Ana and Antun Mutnjaković. She was a loving sister to the late Željko Mutnjaković (Ljerka) and Vlado Mutnjaković, and was predeceased by her sister-in-law Mira.
She will be deeply missed by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Vlado, the late Zvonko, Milan, Ivica, and Zorica Spoja, along with their spouses.
Slavica's memory will be treasured by her beloved nephews and nieces and their families from Canada, Croatia, Germany and Norway. She also leaves behind many dear kumovi, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness, warmth, and generosity.
For more than 25 years, Slavica owned and operated her hairstyling business, where her clients became much more than customers—they became part of her extended family. She welcomed everyone with a warm smile, a listening ear, and a caring heart, forming lasting friendships with those who sat in her chair.
A gifted and creative soul, Slavica found joy in sewing beautiful creations and expressing herself through music. She was a proud member of the Holy Cross Church Choir, where she shared her love of singing, and remained deeply connected to her Croatian heritage through her involvement with Lado Tamburica and Zlatni Pajdaši. She especially loved playing the prim, and took immense pride in preserving and celebrating her Croatian culture and traditions.
Above all else, Slavica cherished her family. She had a remarkable gift for bringing people together and was most at home when surrounded by those she loved. Whether hosting holiday celebrations, family dinners, or special gatherings, she filled her home with laughter, delicious food, music, and unconditional love. Through her generosity, thoughtfulness, and welcoming spirit, she created treasured traditions and unforgettable memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Though our hearts are broken by her loss, we are forever grateful for the love she shared so freely and the countless lives she touched. Her beautiful spirit, gentle kindness, and unwavering love for family, friends, and faith will never be forgotten.
