It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Tata and Dida on Thursday, July 30, 2026, peacefully in his sleep at the age of 82.
He will be lovingly remembered by his sons Josip, Daniel (Lisa) and Nikola (Michelle) Corak. Cherished Dida to Marissa (Cam), Sydney (Zach), Marcus, Joshua, and Addison. Proud Great-Dida of William. He will be missed by his sisters-in-law Tereza, Manda and Ana, his nieces and nephews Mike, Anita (Deane), Ivana (Daniel), Marija (Igor), Mary (Steve), Slavko (Kira) Marinela (Jasmin), and Zdravko as well as his extended family in Canada and Croatia.
Pre deceased by his wife Vera (2025), his brothers Ivan and Mirko, and brothers-in-law Nikola and Adam.
Steve was born in Pricac, Slavonia, Croatia and came to Canada in 1969 to build their life and family. He worked at Columbian Chemicals, where he was a dedicated worker for 35 years, eventually retiring and enjoying the simple life with his best buddy Mylo and hanging out at the Donut Stop. Steve enjoyed his gardens, making kielbasa and perfecting his pig roast, something his family will cherish for years to come.
We would like to thank the dialysis Nurses and Doctors at St. Joseph’s Hospital and the staff at Abington Court for their exceptional care and compassion over the years.
Visitation will be held at Markey Dermody, 1774 King Street E., Hamilton, on Thursday, August 6, 2026 from 6- 9 PM. Prayers will be offered at 8 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Catholic Church on Friday, August 7, 2026 at 11 AM. Cremation to follow. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
