She was predeceased by her husband, Leo Gouthro; and parents James and Sadie Weatherbie; and eight siblings.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children Sharon and John Geoghegan, Dave and Greta Fuentes Gouthro, and Allan and Colleen Gouthro; grandchildren Curtis and Carrie, Justin and Christine, Steven, and Eric; great-grandchildren Noel, Abby, and Ava; her brother Lawrence Weatherbie, Marie Weatherbie; sister in-law Rhoda Weatherbie; and many nieces, nephews from Ontario and Nova Scotia.
Sylvia enjoyed many things during her life, including vacations home in Nova Scotia, playing euchre, walking, and especially spending time with her family and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers of Macassa Lodge for their compassionate care.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Gathering at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton on Sunday, October 18th from 1 – 4 p.m.
