Thomas "Tom" Harold Lewington

It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas (Tom) Harold Lewington on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Tom was born in Hamilton, Ontario, on January 14, 1948. He will be forever loved and deeply missed by his beloved bride, Betty.

Tom was a wonderful, loving father and father-in-law to Brian and Erin; Jeffrey Mauthe and Jacqui. Special Grandpa to Hayden and Aubrey. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Pauline Lewington. Tom and Betty shared 50 years of marriage, built on love, friendship, and the enjoyment of each other’s company. He is survived by his sisters-in-law, Susan Condon, Sharon Poulter and nieces and nephews.

Tom had many friends and enjoyed spending time with them; reminiscing was a favourite topic.Tom enjoyed a career in automotive financing and retired in March 2019 from Tricor Automotive; a job which he loved to its fullest. He loved the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and was a proud season ticket holder since 1971. Taking care of his lawn was definitely another passion of his. He loved Rock and Roll music and could name a tune in just a few notes. Tom loved to travel. The beach, sun and sand was where he loved to be.

The family would like to thank Dr Taniguchi and the staff at St. Peter’s Hospital Palliative Care for their care and compassion.

As per Tom’s wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Hamilton Health Sciences – St. Peter’s Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
