With great sadness the family announces the passing of Wayne Allan Thomson, with loved ones by his side on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Shirley (Spencer); loving father of Mike Thomson, Brenda and Bob Spencer. Grandpa of Clare Thomson (Adam) Van Wyngaarden, Julia Thomson, and Shane Ellis. Great-grandpa of Maci and Angelina. Brother of Audrey Pollington, Shirley Cooper, and Eleanor Staley. Brother-in-law of Jean Martin and Ang Howard. Predeceased by brothers Carl and Jim, and sister Phyllis. Special thanks to St. Joseph Harbour North 1 (W5), the Wellington Nursing Home, CCAC, and the Alzheimer’s Society for their excellent care. In keeping with Wayne’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and family will be received at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME “Fennell Chapel”, 322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial Service will be held in the Fennell Chapel on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, Canadian Cancer Society, or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
