Bob shared 70 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Gaile Southall, creating a lifetime of memories and a family he was incredibly proud of. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Dawn Bennie (Doug), Denise Stribbell (John), Laurie Southall, and Lisa Southall.
Bob was a proud grandfather to Derek (Coral), Laurisa (Mike), Kevin (Charlotte), Steven (Heather), Johnnie (Michelle), Maddison (Brandon), Karleigh (Adam), and Zoey (Connor), and a cherished great-grandfather to Hudson, Harlow, Mijo, Ava, James, Logan, Norah, J.J., and William.
Bob was the last surviving member of his siblings, having been predeceased by George, Warren, Donna, Jack, and Keith. He will also be deeply missed by June, Howie, and Sue, as well as his extended family and many friends.
Bob will be remembered for his quick wit, endless banter, and ability to make people laugh. He loved telling stories and had a way of leaving the listener wondering whether every detail was actually true. His stories, humour, and personality brought laughter and countless memorable moments to those fortunate enough to know him.
A distinguished businessman, Bob worked hard throughout his life to provide for his family and give them the best life possible. His dedication to his family was evident in all that he did. He also proudly served in the Canadian Air Force from 1953 to 1958.
Family was at the centre of Bob’s life. He was always a willing participant in family vacations and cherished the many memories made together over the years. His legacy will live on through the stories shared, the laughter he created, and the love he gave so generously to his family. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at The Village of Wentworth Heights; Kyle, Arwinder, Lori, Sue, and Leisha for the kindness, care, and compassion you showed Bob. Your support and dedication meant so much to him and to all of us.
