Miss my visits with Don and Yvonne in Port Ruin, as I called it.  Good times and I always increased my knowledge on something. They had a way of keeping me informed.  Thinking of them today and on a regular basis. Take care Cathy, Lori and Steve.

It’s bitter sweet, but I’m glad Nanny is finally at peace. Such a loving person, and so many fond memories growing up, things I could never forget; peanutbutter and jam on toast in the evening, egg in a cup, and all the amazing holiday meals with the family.

I wish I could have been there these last couple weeks, but Hannah and I have been thinking fondly of her and how much we’ll miss her.

Dear Uncle Don, Cathy, Lori and Steve,

Aunt Yvonne was such a lovely lady. I have many fond memories of her.  Yvonne was always so kind to me. She was always genuinely interested in what I was doing and how everything was going in my life. She would ask about John, Noah and Adam and all that was happening in their lives. She never seemed hurried and wanted to hear it all. And she would remember from the time before what we had talked about. I thought that was such a lovely and thoughtful quality.  
Each year at our Henderson family reunion party,  I would look forward to after we had tidied up for the evening and Don and Yvonne would bring out the cards or a game. I really enjoyed that time. We had lots of laughs and some good friendly competition. 
I thought Yvonne had style and I liked how she often added an interesting piece of jewellery to her outfit.  Even at the cottage she had pizzazz! 
I didn’t realize what beautiful blue eyes Aunt Yvonne had until recently, when we would be having our chats.  Always ready with a smile and a kind word. 
On behalf of our family, we are sending our love and heartfelt condolences.

I have so many lovely memories of  Yvonne. We first  met as new neighbors living in a very raw subdivision in Georgetown   Ontario. I thought Yvonne was such a sweet kind and gentle woman.  To me she was the epitome of what a good and  caring  friend  should be. We shared lots of chats about our little 5 year old  daughters, Lori and Tracy,  who still remain staunch  friends even though they live so far away from each other.  I treasure my years spent with Yvonne. Although it is hard to realise you have left  us, I feel glad you are now at peace my dear friend.

Yvonne - you were actually Mrs Henderson to me for a very long time! But actually, second Mom would have been appropriate too.  Lori and I were 4 years old when we first met and became best friends and for many years we spent a great deal of time in each other's houses. My first sleepover happened in the safety of your arms, you were there to hug me when I was homesick at my first Summer Camp, my first trip to Niagara Falls when you bought me an ice cream that I proceeded to eat from the bottom up and when it splattered all over my dress, you didn't laugh just handed over some kleenex which you always seemed to have handy! I remember you taking me along to Lori's figure skating competitions and we would sit in the stands together cheering and clapping  drinking hot chocolate with tiny marshmallows on top.  Every now and again I remember looking up at you and noticing tears gathering in your eyes which I thought was the cold but as a mother myself now, I understand were tears of pure pride.  What a gentle, kind, generous soul you were Yvonne. Thank you so very much for touching my childhood in such a precious way. I truly was blessed to have you in my life and I am more than thrilled that I was able to introduce you to my children not so many years ago and so today they are also sad to know of your passing and would like to extend their sympathy to Lori and her gorgeous family just now.  

Lori, your Mom was a special woman and kind souls like hers never die, they leave us bereft here  and enter the universe  as a bright light for us to follow.  All of us here are sending all of you there huge hugs and much love.  We will raise a glass to you on the 17th and have a quiet moment to remember Yvonne. xxxxx

Goodbye Yvonne..  We had so many good times and the memories that go with them. Our families grew up together and now look at all. The wonderful kids that have arrived to enjoy life as we did.  You were a sweetheart and I will miss you sincerely. Love Gord
