

"Andy" was a disabled veteran who proudly served as an Airborne Infantry Sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1986 - 1990. He was assigned to the 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Oahu, Hawaii. Andy received numerous achievement medals, good conduct medals, and the expert infantry badge. He was also an expert in weapons and ordnance.
Andy was born on March 14, 1964, in Queens, New York, to Aida “Gladys” and Vincent Pasterczyk. He was a graduate of Hampton High School and attended the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. He also earned his associate degree and highest honors Presidential Award for top GPA of his graduating class at Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton, Virginia.
Andy was known for his charm, sense of humor, insight, and caring heart. He loved his family unconditionally. He also loved animals and being outdoors working with nature. He loved music of all genres and expressed his great voice as a lead vocalist in multiple heavy metal bands. Andy was an avid sports fan of New York teams (Giants, Mets, Rangers, and Knicks) and was happy to talk strategy and statistics in any regard to sports. He had a knack as a horticulturist, working in landscaping for many years. Andy was a man who wore many hats in his lifetime, and he always showed he had an exceptional talent for each hat.
Andy was preceded in death by his father, Vincent Pasterczyk, and his beloved abuela, Natividad Rivera. He is survived by his parents, Gladys and John Mann; three children, Christina Pasterczyk (Jon), Andrew Pasterczyk (Marianna), and Tyler Pasterczyk (Julie); four brothers, Joseph Pasterczyk, John Pasterczyk (Cira), Michael Mann (Becky), and Don Mann (Tara); nine grandchildren, numerous extended family members, close friends and his faithful dog, Buster.
Andy always showed his love and patriotism for his country and protected the flag proudly.
Family and friends are welcomed to join Andrew’s Celebration of Life Service at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave. Hampton, VA on Tuesday, January 18th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.
Burial with Honors will be held at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Rd, Suffolk, VA 23434 on January 31st, 2022 at 1 p.m.
