Angela Dawn Christensen

Angela Christensen, age 61, of Hampton, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. Angela was born September 29, 1960. Angela, known by her family as Angel, was a very kind, loving, and caring person who was always looking for ways to help those around her. Underneath her soft and mild demeanor was a person of true grit and tenacity. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time caring for them. When asked recently what she had enjoyed most in life, she stated “Being a Mother”. Her children remember her for her lively outgoing disposition at home, which is where she would play music loudly and sing along at unusual times of the day or night. Angel was very protective and empathetic and would cry when others were hurting. She also liked to pick up treats with the kids after school. Angel had a simple, yet deep and abiding faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, which she demonstrated through her actions for both strangers and friends. She was often praying and speaking to those in need that crossed her path and was a faithful member of New Covenant Church in Hampton, VA. She also loved decorating and looking for ways to display her collections of special dishes, figurines, and pottery. Angel was a wonderful wife and mother. She will be greatly missed by her family. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert McCoy Tilson; and son, Phillip Michael Christensen. Angel is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Michael Christensen of Hampton, VA; daughter, Katelin Mackenzie Christensen; son, Nathan Aldridge Christensen; mother, Jewell Tilson; brother, Robert Daniel Tilson; and two sisters, Debra Mitchell and Sherry Stanley. A celebration of life memorial service will be held for Angela on Friday, October 14th, 2022 at 1:00 PM at New Covenant Church, 1079 Big Bethel Road, Hampton, Virginia 23666.
