

Tony, often labeled as the “Hot Dog King of Hampton”, was the former owner and operator of Fertitta’s Place in Phoebus for 40 years. He had a passion for golf which led him to a honorary membership with the Hampton Golf Association. He held memberships with the Elk Lodge, Moose, and the American Legion. Tony, a veteran of the U.S. Army, dedicated his free time to assist his fellow veterans at the Hampton V.A. Medical Center.
He is survived by his daughter, Terri Fertitta of Newport News and her companion, Charlie James; son, Anthony J. Fertitta, Jr. of Alexandria; sister, Frances Walker of Newport News; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to send their appreciation to Tony’s caregivers, Jacqueline, Leola, Krystal, Sheila, LaQuaya, Keisha, Tianah, Tinel.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Tony’s life will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, February 16 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
