Aurelio Mangual passed away on September 7, 2019 in Sun City Center, Florida at the age of 96. He was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and served as a Army Staff Sergeant as a Master Gunner during World War II. He was employed by the United States Postal Service as a Supervisor and retired in 1978 after 32 years of service. He loved listening to jazz music and dancing with his wife, Lillian, to salsa and mambo music. In his later years, he enjoyed listening to the various Christian broadcasts on television.
Mr. Mangual is predeceased by his wife, Lillian Mangual Pizarro and his son, Aurelio Mangual, Jr. He is survived by his daughters; Maria Theresa Rabanal and Ivone Cecile Keenan, two grandchildren; Marina A. Mangual and Alfredo A. Rabanal II, and five great-grandchildren; Alexis G. Strickland, Destiny N. Rothwell, Julius J. Bishop, Mia J. Rabanal and Alia L. Rabanal.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Peninsula Memorial Park, 12750 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, VA 23606. Friends are encouraged to visit www.parklawn-woodfh.com to share memories and offer words of condolence with the family.
