Brenda Ann Karlson

Brenda Ann Karlson passed away on January 12, 2026. Brenda was born July 23, 1963 at Dixie Hospital in Hampton Virginia to Josh B. Boyd and Annie Potter Boyd. After graduating from Kecoughtan High School in Hampton 1982. She married Kenneth Peterson and had two children Shawn and Ryan. Later she married David Karlson and had one child Ashleigh. She was preceded in death by both her parents, a step father Rudy Jenkins, a brother Josh Boyd III, a sister Karen Boyd, sister in law Denise, her best friend Joanna Evans, beloved nephew Reggie Stewart and her beloved dog Rylie.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband David, three children Shawn, Ryan, and Ashleigh, her six grandchildren Malekigh, Kenny, Jacob, Skylar, Cheyenne and Karina, her siblings Lee Boyd(Cathy), Donnie Boyd, Pam Smith (Johnny), Rita Harper (Peter), Kathy Barrow (Mike) and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, located at 2551 North Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23666, on January 19, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

The funeral service will follow at the same location from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

A committal service will take place at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2551 N Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23666, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm on the same day.
