His is survived by his wife of 61 years, Beatrice Long Smith; children, Helen Wyatt (Kenny), Kathy Flythe (Woody), Carlisle Smith, Jr. (Lynda), John Smith (Pam), and Billy Smith (Rhonda); brother, Cecil Smith of Tabor City, NC; and nine grandchildren, Chris Wyatt of Newport News, Scott Flythe of Suffolk, Cory Smith and Candace Puckett of Bonaire, GA, Deanna and Nikki Smith of Hampton, Josh Smith of Newport News, Justin Smith of Yorktown, and Matthew Smith of Yorktown.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and an avid golfer in the Hampton Roads area.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 1, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens.
