

Carvin Parker was born March 6, 1946 and entered into rest on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Williamsburg Sentara Medical Center. He was born to the late Melvin and Dorothy Parker of Williamsburg, VA. He accepted Christ at an early age and truly loved God. Carvin, as he was called, was a hard working man. He began his career as an auger operator at Dominion Virginia Power with 36 years of service, he retired in 2006. He was a former member of Mount Ararat Baptist in Williamsburg, VA. In later years he became a member at Shiloh Baptist Church, Yorktown, VA until his wife, Shirley Parker became ill.
His precious memory will be missed by his wife, Shirley, of 46 years and 3 children; Sherry Parker of Williamsburg, VA; Cory Parker and fiancé Kristin Bentun of Newport News, VA; Carvin Parker, Jr. and wife Latonya Parker of Central, TX. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; devoted friend Kevin Whitby; three brothers; one sister; as well as a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Carvin's life will be held at 1pm on Thursday, July 18 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
