Delores Doris Dorothy Rowe

Dee was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on August 22, 1920 to Elvera Lorna Eleanor Neubauer and Edward William Neubauer. Dee lived in Fond du Lac until her marriage to Robert Donald Rowe on May 5, 1945. Because Bob was in the Air Force, they lived in many places, including Vienna, Austria; Misowa, Japan; and numerous states, finally ending their travels at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia.

Dee is survived by her sister, Beverly Eserhut, Oakwood, Minnesota; her son, David James Rowe (Patty) of Coral Gables, Florida; her daughter, Linda Dee Rowe of Harrisonburg, Virginia; her grandchildren Ashley, Richard, Brittany, Audra Dee, Drew, Kelly Dee, Robbie, Patrick; and her great grandchildren Hannah Dee, Ryker, Bennett, Christiana, Michael, Evan, and Ian.

In addition to her parents, Dee was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob; her sister, Ruth Voss; her brothers, Gordon Neubauer and Roger Neubauer; and her son, Thomas Robert Rowe.

Dee was a loving wife and mother, creating warm, comfortable homes for her family wherever Bob was stationed. She was an expert seamstress, a wonderful cook, and an industrious homemaker. She could sew anything from a bikini to an evening gown, and repair any tear or hole in a garment, and get out any stain. Her Lutheran faith was very important to her. She taught Sunday school and was active in church service. She had a tender heart for those in need and gave to numerous charities. She will be remembered for her quiet grace and giving nature.

A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 765 J. Clyde Morris Blvd., in Newport News. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
