Edith worked at NASA in the Photo Lab for many years and then decided to return home to be a homemaker. In early years, she attended Emmaus Baptist Church and then Pine Chapel Baptist Church.
Edith was preceded in rest by her parents, John and Annie Forrest; husband, Thomas E. Steele; daughter, Betsy Baran; son, John T. Steele; and grandsons, Danny and Scotty Martin. She is survived by her sons, Robert E. Steele of Gloucester and Ronald E. Steele and wife Doris of Hampton; sister, Lorene Hunt of Poquoson; grandchildren, David Martin, Paul Steele, John Baran, Sherri Outlaw, Tina Steele, Ginger Palmer; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Parklawn Memorial Park.
