Edith was born in Wiesbaden Germany to Wilhelmine “Minna” Lohr Watterlohn and Karl August Hermann Watterlohn. She grew up during a time in history that saw many changes in the world and had countless stories to tell of her experiences.
Edith loved traveling with her husband of 42 years, Richard B. Williams. They spent many hours taking long walks through the mountains of Germany and Austria. Edith was very imaginative and creative; she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and crafts of all kinds. She was an avid gardener and took a great deal of pride in her beautiful flower gardens.
Edith was pre-deceased by her husband of 42 years, Richard B. Williams; her daughter Maryanne Yeardley; and brothers Dieter S. Watterlohn and Horst Watterlohn. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Linda and Rick Jenkins of Hampton VA; her son Eric G. Williams of Colorado Springs CO; grandsons Chris Savage, Sean Garcia, and Richard Williams; granddaughters Pearl Garcia and Rachel Yeardley; and great grandsons Benjamin Pillow and Journey Garcia.
In lieu of flowers please make a memorial donation in Edith’s name to the Food Bank of the Virginia Peninsula. A private family Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
