He retired as an Engineering Aide from NASA-Langley in 1991 after 31 years. He volunteered for many years after retirement at the ABC Small Engine Repair in Poquoson.
Frederick was preceded in rest by his parents, F. Holman Wood, Sr. and Dorothy Houchens Wood and sister, Jacqueline Wood Jerd. He is survived by his brother, William Hamilton Wood and wife, Mary Lou; nieces, Dorothy Jerd Aldrich and her three daughters and Becki Jerd Caldwell and her daughter.

A celebration of Frederick’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 4, at the gravesite at Emmaus Baptist Church Cemetery in Poquoson.
