Gabriel William Christie

He was born in Brooklyn, NY and has been a Hampton resident for the past 59 years. He retired from the Air Force in 1968 and worked for Hampton City Schools as the Director of Pupil Accountability. He was a past Master of the Army/Navy Masonic Lodge and also held the office of District Deputy Grand Master during his 57 years of Masonry.

Bill was preceded in death by his sons, William P. Christie and Steven C. Christie and is survived by Grace Christie, his wife of 66 years, his daughter, Grace MacDonald as well as one son-in-law, 2 daughters-in-law, 6 grandchildren, their spouses and 7 great grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 30 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home in Hampton. A funeral service will be held at the same location at 12 p.m. on May 31. Burial will follow the service at Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk.
