

Hank served as 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army. He received his undergraduate degree from Va. Tech (VPI) and an MBA from George Washington University. He retired from NASA in 1993 having served 33 years as a Professional Engineer and Program Manager.
Hank was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
Henry was preceded in rest by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Hobbs Parker. He is survived by two sisters, Nancy Parker of Norfolk, VA and Carol Parker Shafer (Donald) of Glendora, CA; two sons, Frederick Hobbs Parker and his wife, Molly, of Woodbridge, VA and Steven Gray Parker and partner, Christopher Slusher, of Roanoke, VA; three grandchildren, Sarah Brooke Martin (Stephen) of Haddonfield, N.J., Tyler Ann Smith (Michael) of Arlington, VA, Brett Elliott Parker of Arlington, VA; and four great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Hanks’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Interment will be privately held in Parklawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 250 Fox Hill Road, Hampton, VA 23669.
