Jeannine M. Stooks passed away on January 12, 2021 in Riverside Hospital from complications of COVID-19.
She was born in Baltimore Maryland on November 24, 1928.
Ms. Stooks was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard J. and Mary Louise Mattare of Hampton, Virginia. She is also preceded by her first husband Captain Mark Hopkins Jr. and her second husband, William E. Stooks.
Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Stephanie M. Jackson (Gary) of Newport News, VA and Mark Hopkins (Kim) of Hampton, VA; grandchildren, Chris Jackson (Anastasia), Patrick Jackson, Clint Jackson (Heather), Andrea Truong (Lee) of Jacksonville, FL, Ryan Hopkins, Mark Hopkins IV (Shannon) of England; great-grandchildren, Sophia and Evan Jackson, Kyle and Marc Jackson, Abigail, Caroline and Benjamin Jackson, Kenji and Tatum Truong and Cody Hopkins; very special niece, Melissa Corum of CO; many wonderful friends.
Jeannine was a graduate of Hampton High School, class of 1946. She retired as a CNA from McDonald Army Hospital on November 30,1996. Jeannine was a very hard working lady, always thinking of other people. If she wasn’t working she was either cooking or cleaning and everyone will miss her holiday meals. She never met a stranger, loved to talk on the phone to her friends and had a love for her cats and birds.
There will be a private Graveside Service.
She will be missed by her family and friends…I LOVE YOU MOM.
