Jesse was a lifelong music lover and harmonica player who performed with a number of bands throughout Virginia over the years. He loved music, had strong opinions about it, and was generous enough to let everyone else have their own, even when they were wrong.
He had a way of saying exactly enough. Sometimes less. Usually on purpose. His timing was sharp, his delivery was quiet, and if you missed the joke, he was not likely to explain it.
Jesse is survived by his wife of 38 years, Deborah H. Rose; his daughter, Jessica R. Knighten; his son, Alexander G. Rose; and his two loyal guard dogs, Nugget and Bruiser, who were deeply bonded to him and took their duties very seriously.
Details for a celebration of life will be shared in the coming weeks.
Jesse will be remembered for his music, his wit, his loyal companions, and the unmistakable way he made a room better without making a big production of it.
He passed the audition.
