

Jimmie R. Haynes, age 73, of Hampton, Virginia passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015 with his loved ones by his side. He was born in Wilson, North Carolina, July 8, 1941 to the late Charles E. and Geneva Haynes.
Jimmie is survived by his beloved son Steven T. Haynes of Zebulon, North Carolina, brother Billy D. Haynes (Shirley), brother Charles E. Haynes Jr., and sister Sally Boswell (Robert) all of Wilson, North Carolina; also survived by several nieces and nephews; and his sweetheart of 15 years Virginia Prevette of Hampton, Virginia. He was preceded in death by infant son, two brothers, Tom Haynes and James Patrick Haynes and a sister, Dolly Saul.
One of Jimmie's most proudest accomplishments was hitting the 50 year mark as a Master Shipbuilder in the M53 Dept. at Huntington Ingalls in Newport News, Virginia, where he retired in the year of 2010. The family would like to thank the staff of the Piedmont and The Monticello at The Gardens for their professionalism and unwavering dedication to Jimmie's care over the past several weeks. You are all special angels to us and will always have a special place in our hearts.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Park.
