i grew up with john while living in QUINCY,MASS.he was one of the nicest people i knew in the merrymount neighborhood.he will be sadly missed.

I had the privilege to work with John for the last 4 years at the Transonic Dynamics Tunnel.  Aside from being a hard-working dependable person, he knew his sports and loved his "ponies", as he called them.  He had a very unique sense of humor and was a great person to work with.  I always loved to hear him call Dewitt in "Double-E" and say in his Boston accent, "Okay, Dewitt, you got the key, we're ready to come online, low-speed windings, we need tunnel cooling, 26 megs of powa, and permissives are ova."  Dewitt would reply, "Here we go good buddy..."  Then sometimes there would be silence.  Dewitt would then get back on the PA and say, "John John, I need to head up into the nacelle and bang on the stationary seal", or "John John, I have a low brake water pressure alarm."  John was affectionately known as "John John" by all on 2nd shift at the tunnel.  John is sadly missed.  We continue on with him in spirit and with him always in our hearts and often on our minds.  I get sad seeing his desk without him there, but I believe that he is in a better place.  The dinner on Thursday night at the County Grill was an indication of how many people John had as friends during his time at the NASA Langley Research Center.  I would like to express my sincere condolences to John's family during this difficult time.  John, you will forever be in my heart my friend and often on my mind.

My husband, Randy Fly, worked with John for many years. I had the privilege of his acquaintance for 4 years, and we both loved his keen wit, often delivered with a perfect poker face. May his partial cell phones, cobbled together to mimic their intrusive counterparts, remain unanswered, and let his memory linger long with those fortunate enough to experience his kindness, laugh at his humor, and love his uncommonly indescribable personality. 

Thank you, John.  We hope your new journey is joyous and our paths cross again.

John was my co-worker and most importantly my friend. We shared alot of great times and he taught me alot. He will be greatly missed by all of his friends and myself. God bless you John.

I worked with John at the 16 Foot Transonic Tunnel in the late 90's. He was an excellent technician, competent and hard working. He was also a really good person, always willing to help other people. He will be sorely missed. My condolences to his family.
