Judy and her husband, Kemp, were high school sweethearts and were married for 57 years. Together they built a life grounded in love and family, sharing both the everyday moments and life’s bigger milestones side by side.
She was a proud and loving mother to her two daughters, Taff Hodges (Wes) and Jennifer Bordeaux (Tony), and is also survived by her sister, Brenda Harlow (David). Being “Memaw” was one of her greatest joys. She loved her six grandchildren—Mia Heavens (Jared), Trevor Hodges, Trey Hodges, Connor Bordeaux, Parker Bordeaux, and Payton Bordeaux—and her two great-granddaughters, Ella and Audrey Heavens—more than words can express. She was a cherished aunt to all of her nieces and nephews.
Judy had a special gift for taking care of people, and nowhere was that more evident than in her kitchen. She loved to cook, especially for friends, family, or anyone going through a hard time. A meal from Judy meant you were cared for. And if something surprised her along the way, you might hear her familiar phrase, “Oh my stars,” said with a smile.
A service to celebrate Judy’s life will be held with family and close friends on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Water’s Edge Church in Yorktown, Virginia.
Judy will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
