Linda Lee Hardin

Linda Lee Hardin, 70, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017. She was a native and lifelong resident of Hampton.
After a career lasting over 41 years, Linda retired from civil service at Fort Monroe. She was a Mortuary and Casualty Officer and received a letter of appreciation from President Bush during her retirement ceremony. She was active in supporting the Dorothy G. Hoefer Comprehensive Breast Center. Other hobbies and interests Linda enjoyed were crocheting, traveling, big band music, and always looking for ways to improve her home stylings.
She is survived by her brother, James R. “Bobby” Hardin.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at Wednesday, October 25, at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
A special appreciation is given to the nurses and aids at the Pinebrook section of the Newport News Nursing and Rehab Center, especially Monica Mitchell, LPN, for the loving care given to Linda.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dorothy G. Hoefer Comprehensive Breast Center, 11803 Jefferson Ave., Suite 130, Newport News, VA 23606.
