Born and raised in Windsor, VA, she was the youngest of four children born to Allen and Winnie Beale.
Marion married Byron (Bay) Bowden in 1939 and they moved to the Peninsula in 1952 where she has resided for the past 68 years. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church for 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her three brothers, Preston Beale, Newman Beale and James Beale, as well as her great-granddaughter, Suzanne Shelton. She is survived by her three children, Jean Shelton, Kathy Tunno and Royce Bowden. She also leaves eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and a large extended family to cherish a lifetime of memories.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkview Baptist Church, 604 Hilton Blvd, Newport News, VA 23605.
A church service will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Masks and social distancing will be in effect due to COVID-19 pandemic; burial will follow.
