Marjorie Collins

Marjorie Lucille (Thomas-Barefield) Collins, age 84, of Poquoson, Virginia, passed away at 2:37 PM on Monday, September 5, 2022. She was born on November 28th,1937 in Georgetown, Illinois to Andrew Thomas and Lorene Mae Smith.

She married Fred Barefield of Gary IN and later married Korda Collins of Georgetown, IL who also preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by both of her parents, son, Anthony Wayne Barefield; 4 siblings, and 1 Great-Grandson.

She is survived by her son, Fred M Barefield; daughter, Victoria L. Stone, both of Hampton, Virginia; son, Timothy Barefield (Susan) of Newport News, Virginia; 13 grandchildren, Neenah Barefield, Maylea Barefield-Dumas, Antonia Barefield, Lee Reed III., Lorne Reed, April Reed, Lamar Reed, Ka’Chyra Stone, Ka’Lia Stone, Connor Stone, Timothy Barefield Jr., Colin Barefield, Tre Barefield; 2 siblings, Larry Thomas (Clemie) of Georgetown IL, and Lorene Perry of Gary IN; and a host of great-grandchildren.

Marjorie retired as a Teacher’s Aide from the Georgetown School District. She was a long time dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Georgetown, where she was baptized as a child and taught Sunday school. She enjoyed spending her free time with her grandchildren and reading her bible.

Arrangements have be entrusted to Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Hampton, Virginia.
