

Martha A. Harper, 92, the youngest and last surviving member of seven brothers and sisters, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2012. She was a native of Wake County, NC and a Peninsula resident for over 70 years.
Martha was a member of Hampton Baptist Church and the Bennie Russell Sunday School class. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed working in her flower garden.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Harper, Sr.; son, Donald R. Harper; and great-grandson, Jacob W. Hayes. Left to cherish her memories is her son, William C. Harper, Jr. and wife, Carolyn A.; daughter, Victoria F. Ellis and husband, Donald R.; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family thanks the staff of the Piedmont section of Warwick Forest for their loving care and concerns during Martha's stay.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm on Tuesday, November 27, at the Mausoleum Chapel in Parklawn Memorial Park. A celebration of Martha's life will follow at 2 pm. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
