She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Lattie L Jones, Jr. (USAF Retired). She is survived by one brother, Harry Mears (Frances) of Asheville, NC; daughter, Judith Jones Seay (Jerry) of Hampton; son, Lattie L. Jones III (Ellen) of Newport News; granddaughter, Kim Leigh Seay Hoskins of Williamsburg; grandson, Daniel Jason Seay (Asha Sarma) of Boston, MA; grandson, Corey Spencer Jones of Newport News; great-granddaughter, Alexis Lafayette Ryan of Williamsburg; and great-granddaughter, Mira Pearl Seay of Boston.
Raised during the depression, Maude learned at an early age to recycle. She made dresses and shirts out of flour and sugar sacks and continued to produce beautiful clothes and needlework until late in her life. She loved to read the newspaper and watch Nancy Grace and Judge Judy. We had many lively discussions regarding the State of the Union.
She was a resident at The Devonshire for 21 years and the family wishes to thank the staff for their care of our Mother. We also wish to thank the following doctors and their staffs for their support and kindness of many years: Dr. Harriet Jones, Dr. Laurie Harris, Dr. Rafic Zaitoun, Dr. Patricia Nahormek, Dr. John Norlund, Dr. Rudolph Freeman, Jr., Dr. Jeffrey Booth, and the staff of Sentara Careplex.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
