

Michael E. Berrie, son of Emile A. and Gerda T. Berrie, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012. Michael was born Jan. 7, 1956, in Newport News, Virginia, and graduated from Hampton High School in 1974.
He was a small arms enthusiast and member of the Lafayette Gun Club in Yorktown. For over 24 years, he was employed by Price Club when it was located in Hampton and continued with the company through its location and name change to Costco in Newport News. Michael believed in his country and the values and standards established by our founding fathers. He supported every branch of the military with all his heart and cherished the many military friendships he developed over the years.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and canine companion, "Mitsy." Surviving members of his family include his brother, Frank A. Berrie and wife, Terry; sister, Clarrissa M. "Clay" Thomas and husband, Stanley; nieces, Kimberly A. Falls and husband, Craig, and Laura A. Berrie; grandnephew, Connor Falls; grandniece, Kaylie Falls; and canine companion "Chewy." Also left to remember him is close family friend, Paul Lawson.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, with a reception to follow.
