

Odessa “ Nana” Spence, 59, of Hampton, formerly of Cleveland, Texas, an amazing mother and grandmother, a strong-willed fighter, and a giver always willing to help friends and family, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 5, 2013.
Odessa was a retired SGT E-4, serving her country in the U.S. Air Force as an electrical engineer for aircrafts. She worked as a CPA after her military career.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Y. Molett (Darryl); five grandchildren, Jymel D. Smith, Jr., Jalen Johnathan Molett, Kayla Yvonne Molett, Jacob Gabriel Molett, Amaya Yvonne Molett; brother, Henry Taylor; five sisters, Katherine Wilson, Lynnette Taylor, Dorothy Price, Jessie Mae Scott and Alice Taylor.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 18, at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the March of Dimes or American Breast Cancer Foundation.
