Raymond Ray Paul Rec, Sr.

Raymond Paul Rec, Sr., 76, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017. He was born in Chicopee, Massachusetts and was a resident of Hampton, Virginia for 35 years. Ray was a retired Electrical Engineer with 35 years of service. He served in the Navy as a Lieutenant Junior Grade. Ray was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, IEEE, ICC Finance Council, and a graduate of Worchester Polytechnic Institute (WPI).

Ray was preceded in rest by his wife, Diane Gail Rec; daughter, Donna Shaugobay; son, Rocky Rec; parents, Raymond and Pearl Rec; and sister, Eugenia Rec. He is survived by his son, Raymond Paul Rec, Jr. (Laura) of Hampton, VA; grandchildren, Avery Sullivan (Sarah) of Norfolk, VA, Catherine Rec of Middleton, VA, Steve Lutchen of Vermillion, MN; and sister, Phyllis Godzina of Sarasota, FL.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2150 Cunningham Drive, Hampton, Virginia 23666. A celebration of Ray’s life will follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Parklawn Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be offered to the Knights of Columbus, Stations of the Cross initiative; c/o Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
