Ruth L. Whittom, 90, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014. She was born in Naylor, Missouri and was a resident of Williamsburg for 35 years. Ruth loved the Lord and her family. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church in Hampton.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Amos “Sam Whittom, two sisters, and three brothers. She is survived by her sons, Ron Whittom of Savannah, GA, and Fred Whittom of Gloucester, VA; and sisters, Mary Pennington of Poplar Bluff, MO, and Betty Widener of Richmond, VA.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 pm, Friday, March 7, 2014 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, March 8, at Parklawn Memorial Park, officiated by Pastor Dave Carroll.
