

Ruth was happily married to Alan M. Williamson for 59 years.
Ruth was retired from Hampton Christian Schools/Mary Atkins Preschool after 19 years of service as a preschool teacher and director. On May 5, 2005, she was the recipient of the Sinclair Selden Award. She was a volunteer counselor with CBN in Virginia Beach prior to her career at Hampton Christian Schools.
In addition to her husband Alan, Ruth is survived by her son, Alan Scott Williamson and wife Debbie of Lovettesville, VA; three daughters, all of Hampton, Susan W. Miller and husband Gary, Catherine W. Speciale and husband Steve, and Joy W. Carpenter and husband Steve; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Waltour of Flatwoods, Kentucky, and Laurie Hart of The Villages, Florida; brothers, Thomas Keough of Long Branch, New Jersey and Steve Keough of Hampton, Virginia.
The family will receive friends at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:30 pm, Tuesday, May 22, 2012. A celebration of Ruth’s life will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Restoration Church, 508 Fox Hill Rd., Hampton, led by Pastor Thom Schutt, with interment to follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CBN or Hampton Christian Schools, 2424 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton, VA 23666.
