

Mr. Major proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was especially proud to be a part of the D-Day landing at Normandy Beach in Northern France. He worked for the SUPSHIP, NN before and after the war and as a civil service budget analyst at Ft. Monroe, where he retired in 1975.
Page loved sports, especially Atlanta Braves baseball, Washington Capitals hockey, and tennis. He enjoyed playing sports: watching bowling, tennis, baseball, pool and golf. He also enjoyed wood working, a good game of poker, crossword puzzles, and game shows on TV.
Page was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Agnes W. O'Connor Major.
Celebrating his life and grieving his death are his children and their spouses, Sandi Harris, Karen and Dan Owen, Lennie and Judy Major and Stanley and Judy Major; 6 grandchildren, Erik and Hillary Owen, Brandon Major and his wife Stacey, Christina Duvall, Stephanie Upton and her husband David and Phillip Major and his wife Alyson; 5 great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Alison and Skylar Duvall, and Emily and Natalie Major.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Road, in Hampton.
