

Timothy James Gordon, 23, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2011. He graduated in 2006 from Clifton Central High School. He was a native of Berwyn, Illinois and made Hampton his home for the last three years. He was an Avionics Specialist with the U.S. Air Force at Langley and was awarded the Raymond C. Lackey Award for Excellence. After his military career he began to work on his Bachelor's Degree at ECPI for electrical engineering. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Tim enjoyed hiking, music and being with his family and friends, particularly near the Atlantic Ocean. He collected pocket knives and fossil rocks and had an avid interest in dinosaurs. Tim lost his battle with Severe Aplastic Anemia after 8 months of intense treatment, and was loved very much and will be missed by all. Tim is preceded in death by his grandmother, Carol Gordon; and great-grandfather, Art Schlaman.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Teresa Tiarks and husband, Michael Tiarks of Poplar Bluff, MO; his father, Edward L. Gordon, IV and his wife, Shelly Gordon of Chatham, IL; sister, Nikkie D. Hull of Chatham, IL; brothers, Thomas Gordon of Manteno, IL, and Eddie Gordon of Travis AFB, CA; grandparents, George and Rosemarie Gill of San Antonio, TX, Shirley J. Alliss of Whitehouse, TN, and Edward L. Gordon III of Ashkum, IL; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A private service will be held at Langley AFB.
