Wanless Jay Scott

Wanless is survived by his wife of 69 years Helen Scott, their daughters, Kimberly Pike and Teri Colegrove, along with five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and The Best Little Dog in the World: Emmy. Wanless was preceded in death by all eight of his siblings: Howard, Kenneth, Mary, Clyde, Walter, Warren, Leonard, and Carl.

He dedicated 26 years of his life to proudly serving his country around the world and retired as Senior Master Sergeant in the US Air Force. He finally landed in Hampton, where he entered the real estate business and co-owned Realty World Land and Homes for several years.

Above all his professional accomplishments, nothing made him happier than his family. Similarly, nothing made his family happier than receiving the love that he was always willing and ready to give.

A funeral service for Wanless will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 North Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia 23666. Following the funeral service will be an entombment with military honors at 3:00 PM at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2551 North Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia 23666.
