

Born in Vermont, Larry joined the United States Navy, touring the world, and served in World War II.
Larry attended Drexel University and graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering. Later, he earned his licensure as a Professional Engineer. Over the years, he worked along the Eastern Seaboard as a general superintendent and retired from Lockwood Brothers, Inc.
Larry was a Master Mason for fifty-eight years holding memberships at Warwick Lodge #336 and Poquoson Lodge #49. He was also an active member of ACCA Scottish Rite of Richmond, the Khedive Temple of Chesapeake, Tidewater Shrine Club, Peninsula Shrine Club, and the Khedive Temple Mini 18 Wheelers. He loved to drive his mini-wrecker in parades in Virginia, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
An avid golfer, he loved to play three to four times a week and was a member of the Khedive Golf Club.
Larry leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Kay; children, Patricia and husband Bill of Bethlehem, PA, and Phil of Poquoson; stepchildren, Kathy and husband Jimmy, Matt and wife Lori, and Mark and wife Karen. He was Grandpop to Billy and wife Jamie, and Rachel, Lowery and husband Kevin, Tressa and husband Glen and Cody, Amanda, Ellen, and Eric, Michael and Nicholas. He was Great-Grandpop to Ella Lynn, Ansley, Clinton, Owen, and Madison.
Masonic Rites will be presented at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 4:00 PM. Following the ceremony, the family will receive friends until 6:00 PM.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Shriners’ Children’s Hospital, C/O The Khedive Temple, 645 Woodlake Drive, Chesapeake, VA.
