William Thomas Adams

William Thomas Adams was born in Newport News, VA to Evie Norford Adams and William C. Adams on May 31, 1938. He was tragically killed in a car accident on January 6, 2023. William lived in Hampton, VA for over 50 years, before moving to Yorktown, VA. William had a love of NASCAR, college football (especially UGA and VT), reading the daily paper, fixing things and most importantly his family…nothing made him happier than having them all with him. William leaves behind his adored wife, Joyce Barbrey Adams and his daughters, Elaine Adams of Watkinsville, GA (married to Randy Landry), Hope Adams of Richmond, VA and Jamie Adams Lilley of Yorktown, VA (married to Ed Lilley). William was the proud grandfather/Pa to Adam Lilley of Poquoson, VA (married to Evan Bunting Lilley), Savannah Landry of Lawrenceville, GA and Liam Landry of Watkinsville, GA. He was so happy to be Pa to his two great-grandchildren, Ellis and Parker Lilley of Poquoson, VA. William is survived by his older brother, John Adams and his younger sister, Katherine Adams Barbrey. His family will always cherish his unconditional love, kindness to all, magical ability to fix anything, and his love for his wife…and her cooking. The family will receive friends and family for a public viewing on Tuesday, January 10 at 11am at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, located at 2551 North Armistead Avenue, Hampton, VA 23666. A celebration of life service will commence at 12:15pm at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, followed by an entombment at Hampton Memorial Gardens, located at 155 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA 23666.
