William Kenneth Combs

William was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the Newport News Shipyard after 38 years.

William was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Bonnie Galeski Combs, his parents, and one brother. He is survived by his children, Betty Alice Godak and husband, Pete, William Clifford Combs and wife, Sylvia, Mable Ann Pash and husband, Billy, Kenneth Leon Combs and wife, Vicky, and Mary Jane Ellixson and husband, Andrew; grandchildren, Brian, Teri, Jason, Missy, Eric, Miranda, Cody, Christopher, Kimberlyn, Ariel, Ashley, and Sarah; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Nora Milsap; brother, Charles Combs and wife, Barbara Jean; and four nephews, C.H., Lynn, Nathan, and Eric.

A celebration of William’s life will be held 6:00 pm, Friday, December 26, 2014 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following until 8:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
