

Albert is survived by his lifetime partner of 47 years, Consuelo “Connie” Hope Mendez; five children, Gilbert Acosta, Sidney Mendez, Christy Rodriguez, Patricia Correa, and April Valdez; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren; all of whom were a source of great pride and joy in his life.
Albert was preceded in death by his son, Joey Mendez; and siblings, Emilio Silva, Pedro Silva, Gomesindo Silva, Emetiro Silva, Faustino Silva, Anastasia Huayen, Maria Bonella, and Vincenta Saenz.
Albert was born on November 28, 1935, in Tornillo, TX as one of thirteen children born to Maria Acosta. He spent most of his early life in Texas and New Mexico.
Albert honorably served in the United States Army and National Guard and in 1959, he made his home in Corcoran where he met his lifetime partner, Connie, in 1979. Albert dedicated over 38 years of hard work to J.G. Boswell, while he and Connie built a quiet and happy life together.
Albert will be remembered for his deep devotion to family, unwavering work ethic, and the meaningful life he built through perseverance, love, and service.
He leaves behind a lasting legacy that will continue through the many generations who loved and cherished him.
A private family viewing will take place on Friday, February 27, 2026. If you wish to send flowers, please have them delivered to People's Funeral Chapel directly.
