Barbara Ann Stuber

Barbara Ann (Hild) Stuber, 76, peacefully left this Earth to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at her home, south of Hanford, surrounded by family. Barbara was born in Tulare, CA on January 4, 1941 to John and Gwendolyn Hild. She lived her entire life in the Hanford area, attending Lakeside Elementary School and graduating from Hanford Union High School in 1958. She spent her college years studying at Fresno State University and afterward, worked at KNGS radio station and the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service. Barbara met her husband, PJ Stuber, in July of 1961 on the steps of the Tulare Apostolic Christian Church and they were married a year later on September 15, 1962 in her parents’ garden. She helped her husband run their family business, Stuber Farms, by managing the office. Over the years, Barbara enjoyed attending Bible studies, traveling, painting, sewing, gardening, playing the piano and teaching Sunday school at her church. But her greatest joy was showing love by cooking delicious meals, baking cookies, cakes and pies and praying for her family.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Katherine Hild and Janet Hild.

She is survived by her husband, PJ Stuber, their four children, Ann Gonglach and her husband Bob of Denver, John Stuber of Hanford, Bret Stuber of Tulare and Michael Stuber of Hanford, as well as her seven grandchildren: Ema, Robert, Chloe, Peter, Jacob, Josh and Jory, and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister: Connie Hild Brandt of Bakersfield, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by family and friends for her gentle spirit, acts of kindness and love of her Lord.

Viewing will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the People’s Funeral Chapel, 501 N. Douty St. followed by a 9 a.m. funeral service. Interment will take place at Hanford Cemetery, 10500 S. 10th Avenue and a luncheon will be held afterwards in the fellowship hall at Lakeside Community Church, 16942 10th Avenue.
