Betty Sue Wages

Betty Sue (Rogers) Wages passed away into the arms of Jesus on February 24, 2024. She was born to Rufus LeRoy and Kathaleen Inez Rogers on July 8, 1936 in Tyler, Texas. She was raised in Commerce Texas and married John Willmon Wages in 1955. They traveled west to Avenal, CA where they settled and raised their family.

She is survived by one sister, Joy Carolyn (Rogers) Sparks of Albuquerque NM. and four children: Paula Kreger (Pat), Tricia Erisman, Cary Wages (Maria), and Julie.Shiralian. Ten grandchildren Haylee Mensonides (Ryan),

Adam Kreger (Kate), Casey Kreger (Bianca), Kevin Erisman (Candace), Kyle Erisman (Michelle), Eric Wages (Stephanie), Bryan Wages (Gabby), Carissa Wages, Shontel Bennett (Jordan) and Arian Shiralian (Hayley). And 22 great grandchildren.

Betty’s most lasting positions of employment were at Avenal Elementary School and Avenal High School, where she impacted many students and staff with her kind, nurturing and fun personality from 1969 thru 1999.

In remembrance, the family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Avenal First Baptist Church - 528 E Kings St - Avenal, CA 93204
