

Bobbie Jo went to be with the Lord, where her “new life” awaited her on Monday, September 24, 2012 after a lengthy illness; she was surrounded by her loving family. Bobbie Jo was born to J.C. and Iantha Isma (Booker) Collet on July 31, 1938 in Bushyhead, Oklahoma. As a child, she was raised in Hulbert, Oklahoma and Armona, California. In 1957, she made Hanford, California her home, where she later met and married her husband, Donald Gilbert. Bobbie Jo and Donald had one daughter, Sheila Dawn.
Bobbie Jo spent the last 18 years of her life enjoying watching her two grandchildren grow and participate in many activities; she was their biggest fan. She loved to play bingo, shop, and play cards with “the girls”. She took many trips to the coast and Laughlin, she enjoyed house-boating at the lake with family and friends, and went on a bingo cruise with her sister and good friend. Bobbie Jo loved life, her family, and many friends.
Bobbie Jo was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Iantha Isma Collet along with her sister; Juanita Evelyn West and two brothers; Harley Charles Collet and John Eldo Collet.
Bobbie Jo is survived by her beloved husband, Donald J. Gilbert of Hanford, California. She also leaves behind her loving daughter and son-in-law; Sheila and Shawn O’Sullivan of Hanford; her grandchildren whom she adored; Brianna Danielle O’Sullivan and Jonathan Lane O’Sullivan of Hanford; and her sister, Bessie Lou Stacy of Gardner, Kansas. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much.
A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Hanford Cemetery; 10500 10th Avenue, Hanford, CA 93239 – 559-584-3937.
