
Dave was born August 26, 1936 in Williston, ND. He attended public schools in Glasgow, MT and
Williston, ND. He also attended the University of ND.
Dave enlisted in the US Army in Montana and attended photography school
in Ft. Monmouth, NJ. He served a three year tour with the Alaskan Command in
Ft. Richardson, Alaska. In 1965 he was hired by Scripps League Newspaper
Syndicate in Klamath Falls, Oregon as a photo journalist. In 1966 he was
transferred to the Hanford Sentinel with his new wife Beulah, who was from
Montana.
After several years with the Sentinel he went into business for himself as a
photographer. After 25 years at 114 Irvin St. in Hanford, he retired from Dave's
Custom Photography. Dave was an active member of the community. He was a
member of First Baptist Church, the Chamber of Commerce, Visitors Agency, the
Elks, and the Board of King County Museum. Dave took and printed the pictures
from the first photo lab that ever existed at the Sentinel.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Beulah, two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth
Rantz, of VA, and Alice Rantz of NE, and many nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday May 22 at 10:30AM at
First Baptist Hanford. In lieu of flowers gifts can be made to First Baptist Hanford,
9125 13 1/2 Ave, Hanford, or to the American Cancer Society.
