Eddie was born to his mother, Beatrice Cush, and his father, Joe Albert Newton, in Little Rock, Arkansas in the year of 1954 on January, 8. He spent his childhood and early adult life living in Ashdown, Arkansas. He had his first child, LaSondra Newton, in 1975. LaSondra currently resides in Ashdown, Arkansas where she was born. Eddie met the love of his life, Margarette, in 1979; they would marry years later. Eddie and Margarette had a son who was born in 1985. He was named after his father making him Eddie Dewayne Newton Jr., otherwise known as "Pooh" by close friends and family. Eddie Sr. and his family relocated to Fresno, California in 1985 to be closer to his siblings. Soon after, Eddie's mother and remaining siblings also moved to Fresno. Eddie raised his family and made a host of friends in Hanford, California, a town not too far from Fresno. He enjoyed spending his time playing dominos and cards, working on cars, and he was an avid gun collector. However, most importantly, Eddie loved spending time with his friends and family which also included a large array of grandchildren.
Eddie Dewayne Newton is survived by his wife, Margarette Newton; his brother, Chester Mitchell, Anthony Joel Newton; his sister Dorothy Piggie, Tarondalette Newton Andrson; his son Eddie Dewayne Newton and Tasia Newton (wife); his daughter LaSondra Newton; his step daughter Angelette Nea'Cole Brown and Kubani Brown (husband); his granddaughters Tyra, Ty'Aliyah, Raziya and Raiyana; his Grandsons Zhaevon, Tyre, Tyrese, Rajhon and Rajhae; his 2 great granddaughters Aneli and Amori, his great grandson that was born the day after his passing Khaza; He leaves behind his niece Latanya and Amanda, nephews Roy Chester, Ernie and Chuck. Before Eddie's passing he lost a few very important people in his life, his mother Beatrice Cush; his father Joe Albert Newton; his sisters Laquita Mitchell, Rosie MItchell; Nephew Donald Mitchell and Latonya.
Eddie's family wishes to express their deep appreciation to everyone that prayed for him, called and checked up on him, Hattie Smith for helping take care of him in any way that she could, Hanford Acute care and Adventist health for making him comfortable in his last days.
